3500 22M Dynamic Data Enabling DiskThis disk enables the number of channels ofdynamic data (i.e the ability to collectwavebs) that the TDI will support. There aretwo levels of dynamic data. Steady-State pointsare channels that collect waveb data dueeither to a software command or to an alarm

event, and therefore support current values, 3500 22Mscheduled waveb capture, and alarm datacapture. Transient points provide all the functionof a Steady-State point with the additionalcapability of waveb collection due tobeter variations such as machine speed.Static data capture capability is standard with the TDI.However, using an optional Channel Enabling Disk will allowthe TDI to capture dynamic and high-resolution transient dataas well. The TDI incorporates the communication processorfunction within the 3500 rack.

Although the TDI provides certain functions common to theentire rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path andhas no effect on the proper, normal operation of the 3500 22M overallmonitor system for automatic machinery protection. Every3500 rack requires one TDI or RIM, which always occupies Slot1 (next to the power supplies).When upgrading your 3500 rack from a 3500/20RIM to a 3500/22 TDI, there may be 3500 Mmodules (e.g. 3500/40M) that are not compatiblewith the 3500 22M.
